Joe's Story: Scenes from a Workingman's Life by Joe Solomon, with a foreword by Roy Murphy. Solomon vividly describes his life growing up in the Depression era in New York. He ran away from home as a teenager and rode the rails across America, meeting with many adventures, including two weeks working in a chain gang in the South. Later he travelled the world as a merchant seaman.
